Cola Pot roast

The nights are chilly and thoughts of comfort food comes to mind.

I recently found this slow cooker recipe and was intrigued by the use of cola as an ingredient.

The final result is very tender beef with a rich satisfying gravy, just the thing to serve with creamy mashed potatoes and your favorite vegetables.

You need;

3 lb. pot roast
2 cans (10 3/4 oz. each) fat free low- sodium cream of mushroom soup
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
2 bottles (16 oz each) diet cola

Place meat in slow cooker
Mix rest of ingredients and pour over top of roast
Cover and cook on high 6 hours, or as I do, on low about 9 hours

Thanks for the recipe, BTW.
I had to sub cream of celery for cream of mushroom... :(

Mama and daughter don't do mushrooms.

We do not like mushrooms either, so I sub different flavor of soup also.

I don't like the smell of this while it's cooking. Too much of the cola smell. Right now, I don't even want to taste this and hope that I'll change my mind by the time it's done cooking (another couple of hours). If it's good, I'll write again.
