Our worst fears realized

I am still being a wimp, the tooth I had pulled on Monday is now a dry socket. The stench is awful, the pain being controlled by over the counter medications, and the worst part, the infection is in my right sinus. This morning I went back to my dentist and had more medication applied to the socket, a medicated wad inserted and sent home with anti-biotics. I stopped at the drugstore on my way home and bought a neti pot to flush out the sinus. I have to take very good care of myself or there could be serious consequences due to the infection of the sinus.
I am glad my two clients canceled for today, so I can stay at home and rest.

Aaah Geeez Keewee, I am really sorry to read the latest on your blog, and sinus is a nasty demon - please be a good girl and take all your medications so you can and will soon again feel brand new.
I am thinking of you - - please take good care now.

Actually, you aren't being a wimp, Jennifer...I've had all of these issues in the past and I can attest to the fact that you must be very brave to endure them;-) I have 2 'bridges' after crowns had been removed due to necessary root canals, which only had to happen after the dentist messed around with an old silver filling (from my younger days), which was in need of repair. Once my old fillings are messed with, they always seem to lead to further problems. I've got chronic sinusitis and had to have sinus surgery a few years ago because they were so bad. And back in 2003 I had salivary gland cancer of the palate, and in order to do the 'repair', one of my teeth had to be pulled because it was 'in the way' of the dr's getting to the site. Well, as if I didn't already have enough pain from the cancer surgery and the repair, that tooth site developed dry socket so I was in quite a bad way as well. Misery, I tell you, pure misery. If not for serious pain meds (oxycodone alone wasn't enough...I needed a triple dose of ibuprofin along with it) I would have rather been dead, at the time. The dr. had to scrape around in that area something fierce to try to get blood flowing and I can't even remember all they did, as I was also dealing with the damn hole in the roof of my mouth and the pain from that. So, hang in there. I feel for you;-) Hopefully your pain will end soon and you will heal up. It is NO picnic;'(
